The client is one of the largest extruders of custom thermoplastic profiles and sheet in the United States. It is part of a billion dollar worldwide organization based in London, England and operates in 23 countries, employing 5,200 people. The company has 38 manufacturing facilities, 33 outlets and sales offices for distribution, and four research facilities located throughout the Americas, Asia and Europe. The client is segmented into plastic technologies and fiber technologies and this position focuses on the plastic medical device sector.

Position Objective:
As a senior member of the leadership team, the Vice President of Medical Sales position will lead the sales, customer service and technical functions of the medical team to drive sales for the company’s plastic extrusion medical products niche. This role will provide market leadership and insight in creating a strategic focus, championing ideas and establishing business plan objectives that achieve targeted results. This individual will be accountable for a $15MM P&L that is targeted to $70MM over the next 36 months, based on both organic growth and planned acquisitions.

Education:
Bachelors Degree in Science required. MBA preferred.
Experience Required:
Ten plus years of sales experience in the single use (disposable) medical device/medical OEM industry or medical contract manufactures is required. The last several years will have been in a senior sales management role. Specific experience within medical plastics extrusions or medical plastic injection molded components is strongly desired. The position requires a candidate with a solid background in strategic business development and new product development. Ideally, the candidate will have experience in financial P&L management, as well as international business experience.
The successful candidate will bring to the table dynamic sales and marketing experience from highly competitive B2B markets. Qualified candidate’s experience base must include leading and directing a medical sales and customer service staff within a global organization, bringing a knowledge base of sales concepts, field sales practices and procedures, sales channel structures, including distributor networks, and customer relations. He/she will have successfully cultivated relationships with decision-makers within key medical OEMS and contract manufactures within the US, Europe and Asia. This position necessitates an energetic, dynamic, personally motivated, and results and profit driven leader. This newly created role would be a strong fit for an aggressive individual that has an entrepreneurial spirit, and is looking for an opportunity to manage their own P&L. He/she is a growth oriented type of individual, who takes ownership and is energized by the opportunity to seek out new customers and projects and bring them to close.
