Position Objective :
As a member of management in this highly visible role, the Corporate Communications Manager will lead the graphic design and web development areas of Corporate Communications. This position is a driver to crafting a vision and creating solutions through strong leadership, teambuilding and establishing a foundation of collaboration and stakeholder advocacy. He/she will ultimately be accountable for executing those communication programs and projects that promote awareness, understanding and actions around the organization's strategic initiatives and goals, as well as developing the tools and communication channels to support achieving them. As a member of the Communications management staff, he/she will protect and enhance the organization's public image and reputation while proactively telling the organization's story.
Education:
A Bachelors Degree is required: Mass Communications, Public Relations or Marketing preferred.
Experience and Skills Required:
This position requires seven to ten years of business experience with a minimum of five years of experience in a communication/public relations management role and as a people manager, within a large organization of 1,000+ employees. Experience in a commercial bank and/or a major non-profit would be ideal. He/she must have experience in supervising creative teams of graphic designers, writers, web content managers, etc. This position requires professional communications skills including print, web, video, etc. This experience will include successful program presentations at the highest level of the organization such as to executive management and/or the Board of Directors.
The ideal candidate must understand the applications of technology and possess an ability to effectively partner with IT to meet goals on time and within budget. This individual is accountable for establishing best practices for both intranet and internet. Prior experience in driving brand development is essential. An understanding of marketing, design principles and production is required for this role. The candidate must bring project management skills that clearly demonstrate capabilities in managing multiple, complex projects. The successful candidate will demonstrate a history of producing professional results on a tight budget, with very limited usage of outside vendors.
The candidate must have a strategic and visionary focus and understand the bigger picture when developing work plans and driving projects. He/she will have polished and professional presentation skills with an ability to communicate to a wide audience of individuals. The candidate will have a strong ability to build effective relationships at all levels of the organization. He/she will have a demonstrated ability to lead a highly artistic, creative, innovative and independent minded team.
