The client is a $932M publicly traded global manufacturer of plastic films and aluminum extrusions, employing over 3,000 people at more than 20 locations throughout North America, Europe, Asia and Latin America. Markets include construction, transportation, medical, electrical, distribution and consumer durable goods.

Position Objective:
In this decentralized model, where each division oversees their own HR function, this position represents the senior level HR role at the Corporate Headquarters. It provides leadership and coordination for all functional areas for the Corporate staff of approximately 40 employees and serves only as an advisor to the divisions. It does, however, have complete accountability for the administration of payroll (US & Canada), compensation and benefits for the entire corporation. Additional, corporate only, functional activities include leadership development, team and individual development, succession planning, recruiting, facility management, diversity and cultural issues.

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial & Labor Relations, Business or related field required. MBA, Masters in Human Resources, Industrial & Labor Relations or related field desired.
Experience and Skills Required:
Qualified candidates will have ten plus years in Human Resources, with both broad based, functional accountability and a significant portion of his/her career focused specifically on compensation and benefits. Experience which includes a similarly sized global manufacturing company, with multiple sites, is desirable. Must have specific knowledge of benefits/payroll and compensation design and administration, including executive compensation, pay for performance programs and short and long term incentive plans. With that experience will be a strong working knowledge of relevant regulatory compliance and employment law (ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, employment taxes, FMLA, ADA, EEO, OFCCP, FLSA, and NLRA). This position necessitates experience with senior executive leadership development, as well as expertise in organization development, change management and executive leadership coaching and counseling. He/she will have developed and implemented effective succession planning programs and recruitment strategies.

The candidate must display a practical and direct leadership vision and personal self confidence that comes from solid know-how. As a result of that competency, they inspire trust and respect. This role requires an individual who is secure in driving their point, defending their opinions and negotiating, but who can also be persuaded when.
