Client: The client is a large manufacturing firm with several North American production facilities and approximately 2,000 employees. They have an extensive customer base with products that are highly customized. Markets include construction, transportation, electrical, distribution and consumer durable goods. Net sales in 2002 were over $350 million. The company is owned by a publicly held corporation with a long history of excellence in the industry. They are process driven, focusing on partnering with the customer to deliver a value added product. Culture and Vision: This Division President has full P&L responsibility and provides the leadership to ensure that efficient, highly motivated employees are utilizing effective, structured processes to drive the development and execution of robust strategic plans. Primary focus is in maximizing customer satisfaction and long term economic profit added growth for the Division. Scope and Accountabilities:
Education: Bachelors degree in engineering, business management or related field. MBA preferred. Leadership Skills and Personal Attributes: The ideal candidate must have 10+ years senior management level experience in manufacturing environments that are commodity driven and cyclical in nature, with the most recent 5-7 years in a top leadership role. A typical career progression will include prior P&L and corporate governances accountability, operations plant management, multi plant director, sales and marketing accountability, and procurement management. The successful candidate will ideally have experience in managing manufacturing operations for both industrial and commercial product lines with highly customized products for a large customer base. Experience with organizations that have successfully implemented lean manufacturing, marketing and pricing initiatives is needed. He/she will bring an experience base that has demonstrated success in developing value added marketing strategies that successfully differentiate themselves and effectively launch products that grow market share.
