Client: The client is a newly created design/build firm focused on residential design and remodeling in the Washington, DC area. The firm’s mission is to create beautiful and harmonious living spaces by offering clients the combined, collaborative disciplines of architecture, interior design, and construction within one organization. Its mission is to create livability and beauty in every project, making fine design, skilled craftsmanship, and livable luxuries accessible to each client. The founder is a well respected and award- winning, metropolitan Washington architect, whose residential design/build work has been recognized in the national media, including House Beautiful, The New York Times, American Bungalow, HGTV, and others. Additionally, he has received numerous honors and recognitions from the industry, with project awards that include N.A.R.I, Qualified Remodeler, Professional Remodeler, and Remodeling Magazine. In the area of construction the firm values design-driven construction to ensure high quality projects that surpass industry standards by including construction as a component of the services offered. The firm believes that this level of distinction and excellence is only achieved when integrated architectural and interior designs are moved seamlessly into the construction phase. Their construction documents clearly define and thoughtfully detail the scope of work, ensuring a smooth building process. Every detail of each project is carefully managed, from the placement of rough framing to the installation of specialty molding, reflecting an appreciation of and attention to detail. Position Location: Greater Washington, DC Area Reports to: President and Owner Position Objective : This position is a member of the firm’s management team, with the responsibility of overseeing all construction activities for residential remodeling projects, including supervising and coordinating highly skilled production personnel and subcontractors. Scope & Accountability:
Education: High school diploma required. Four-year college degree preferred, with emphasis on engineering, business, or other relevant disciplines. Experience and Skills Required: For consideration, individuals must have a minimum of ten years of experience in the residential-remodeling industry within the greater DC Metropolitan area (inside the Beltway). He/she must have experience managing upwards of six simultaneous complex projects, ranging from $200K to $1M. The last five years of work must have been in a supervisory management position, managing a staff of up to six direct reports and ten plus subcontractors. Qualified candidates must have the following skills and experience:

The successful candidate is a professional who excels in building and managing client relationships, as well as having an adaptive style that enables him/her to effectively deal with diverse audiences ranging from subcontractors to craftsman, architects, and clients. His/her presence is a positive reflection on the image of the firm. He/she must be a strong communicator (both written and verbal) and able to provide technical guidance to engineers, architects, and craftsman. He/she must possess solid negotiation and contract management skills and be adept at professionally handling stressful situations with professionalism and common sense. Lastly, they must be a principled individual with a strong sense of ethics and understanding of the importance of good corporate citizenship. |
