The client is a major supplier of embossed and permeable films for disposable personal products including diapers and feminine hygiene products. It also produces films for a variety of packaging and specialty markets. Major customers include Procter & Gamble, Johnson & Johnson, Kraft, GE and others. The film products subsidiary had net sales of over $377 million in 2002 and employs approximately 1,300 people in twelve production facilities located in North America, Europe, Asia, and Latin America. The company's aluminum extrusion business makes products for both residential and commercial construction, auto after-market, transportation, electrical, distribution and consumer durable markets. Products include curtain walls, tub and shower doors, boat windshields, truck trailers, snowmobiles, and furniture. Examples of customers for this division include Algonquin Industries, GE, Polaris Industries, and Wilson Trailers. The aluminum extrusion division had net sales in 2002 of over $360 million. The companies headquarters are in Georgia and they operate seven facilities in the US and Canada with a total of 1,788 employees. Experience and Skills Required: Strong legal acumen with at least four years of general transactional and/or commercial law experience. SEC practice experience and intellectual property practice experience is preferred, but not required. Likewise, manufacturing and/or international experience would be beneficial but not required. Domestic and some international travel required. The successful candidate will have exceptional skills in written and oral communication, issue identification and problem-solving and a strong customer/client orientation. This position requires an individual who desires significant client interaction and the ability and willingness to learn and participate in the business. He/she will have an ability to interact effectively with all levels at both corporate headquarters as well as operating units. Must be results driven with a proven track record of sound decision making and ability to execute as well as a reputation as a self starter. Excellent planning and organizational skills, as well as attention to detail and the ability to analyze and draw conclusions are required. He/she will have a strong personal professional presence and outstanding presentation abilities. Leadership Skills and Personal Attributes: As a trusted advisor and strategist to the organization, this individual must exhibit sound judgment, a high level of maturity and self confidence and the ability to handle a wide range of legal matters that encompass the daily corporate counsel function. He/She must also possess strong analytical skills and reasoning abilities. This individual must be someone who has a proven work ethic and a willingness to “roll up their sleeves” in delivering legal services to the customer. Must have a presence and leadership style that can effectively adjust to various personalities on a wide range of issues. Absolutely requires an individual with the highest standards of ethics and integrity. |
